Self-Introduction

Hello,

    My Name is Mark Christensen, but you may call me Mark.  I will be your new ALT for 2019.  I'm 30 years old, and I graduated from Northwest University.  My home town is Snohomish, Washington, USA.  

    My favorite activities include climbing, photography, and cosplay.  In America, I love listening to music by Keith Power and Marty O'Donnell.  I also enjoy music composed by Yuki Kajiura and Yoko Kanno.                

    In college, I studied political science.  I was fascinated by other countries and how they worked.  I look forward to learning more about Japan.

    As a child I was involved with camping and natural resource groups.  This passion continued after college and I became a volunteer climb trainer with the American Lung Association.

    Photography is a valuable tool, and as such I hope to use it to not only share my country with you, but also to share Japan with the world.

    In the coming years I hope to learn Japanese, gain a greater understanding of your history and culture, and act as a cultural ambassador through supporting your English studies.

　私の名前は、マーク・クリステンセンです。マークと呼んでください。私は、2019年の新しいＡＬＴの先生です。私は３０歳です。ノースウエスト大学を卒業しています。アメリカ・ワシントン州のスノホミッシュに住んでいました。

　私の趣味は登山や写真撮影、そしてコスプレです。キース・パワー（Keith Power）やマーティ・オドネル（Marty O'donnell）の音楽を聴くことが好きです。また、梶浦由紀（かじうら・ゆき）さんと菅野よう子（かんの・ようこ）さんが作曲した曲を聞いて楽しんでいます。

　大学では、政治学を学んでいました。その時、私は他の国や彼らの働き方に魅了されました。日本についてたくさん学べることを楽しみにしています。

　子供のころ、私はキャンプと天然資源グループに関わっていました。その時の情熱は大学卒業後も続き、私は、アメリカ・ラング協会のボランティア登山トレーナーになりました。

　写真撮影は貴重な道具なので、私の母国をあなたたちと共有したり日本を世界の人々と共有するために利用したいと思っています。

　今後、日本語を学び、日本の歴史や文化をより深く理解し、また、皆さんの英語学習の支援を通して、文化大使として活動したいと思っています。
